The last meeting of the technology learning community was a wonderful gathering of all of the members. This meeting is designed to allow the teachers to reveal there lessons through a few minute presentation. The teachers discussed there lesson as well as the struggles and successes they occurred during the preparation and implementation. They did a wonderful job!
However, I was a little nervous of what to expect. Some teachers did procrastinate during the meetings and wait until the last minute to complete the assignment. I was called upon a lot during the last weeks before the technology celebration on issues that should have been dealt with throughout the process. This frustrated me quite a bit and the same with Tom. Although some procrastinated, you wouldn't be able to tell based on the artifacts and presentations. Overall, I believe the technology learning community is successful. As for the wiimotes, I do not think it is beneficial to the teachers to use this technology in the classroom. Yes, it is cool, but cool will not achieve higher order thinking.
